It is with great devastation that we find ourselves writing this article. We have just found out that Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival 2019 has been canceled and postponed to March 2020. This has been the most dreadful news we’ve received this month, we were excitedly looking forward to the event
We’ve watched the festival happen over the past few years and this year was the year that we were not going to miss it. Although it was a rushed decision, were ready to purchase our tickets and book our accommodation, a budget had been drawn and our Plett itinerary was in place. Alas, who knew that all our plans were soon going drown the drain?
The official statement from the organizers
The Plett Wine & Bubbly Festival 2019 will regrettably not take place as planned and has been postponed to March 2020.
The decision has been made following the late withdrawal of the sponsorship. Plett Tourism and Plett Winelands are committed to a festival which embodies the quality which people have come to associate with the Plett wine region and so have postponed the event rather than produce a scaled down version.
We are developing a new business model which will include sourcing private sponsorship and other revenue generation mechanisms.
Plett Tourism and Plett Winelands apologize to all concerned but will return with another world-class experience in 2020. Those who have already bought tickets will receive their refunds as soon as possible via Quicket.

The festival usually takes places every year at Central Beach, in Plettenberg Bay. The festival is dedicated to MCCs and other boutique wines produced at the local wine farms. This showcase allows you to taste the spectacular wines from the Plett Winelands. You are also delighted with the tasting of artisan cheeses, charcuterie, breads, savories, and oysters as well as live music. We are super thrilled for the 2020 event and our plans are already in order. Hope to see you there! For more information on the event, please visit www.pletttourism.co.za
